Relationship Development
Our programs are research-based, results-driven, people-friendly
What Relationship Development is about
It is essential to get basic communication (conversation) right. An important part of that is concerned with building and using relationships. We all know that it’s worthwhile having a good working relationship with people with whom you interact - but exactly how do you build a good working relationship? What does it look / sound like? How do you manage to build a good working relationship with someone you might not even really like?
Who will benefit from relationship development
Both organisation and people stand to benefit. Organisations may benefit from better relationships with customers and suppliers. This program would be particularly beneficial to your organisation if you are currently planning or implementing significant changes, or as part of an effort to improve organisational climate.
Any person who has a position that is supervisory in some form, or is managed by a supervisor in some way may benefit. In other words - every person - although there are usually some positions (roles) that are more responsive to the application of excellent relationship skills. Managers and team leaders who are expected to act as change agents and advocates at the same time as maintaining full operational activity are examples, as are those members who interact with any other stake holder group.
Objectives of relationship development
At the end of the program, your delegates will be able to assess relationships in terms of suitable nature and function, and adjust accordingly. They will be able to set up initial relationships and modify existing relationships to best suit all relevant parties. Delegates will have practiced initiating, developing, rescuing and terminating relationships. They will have developed a plan for their own systematic approach to the assessment and adjustment of all important relationships they are involved in. They will also know how to assess the success or otherwise of their relationship strategy.

The extra mile
Our aim is to combine sound research and practical experience with application in your organisation to ensure that the learning is transferred to real situations and used by the participants. Our facilitators will follow up with your delegates at agreed times after particular sessions to support, encourage and measure their skill development and application.
Notes on Relationship Development
As part of improving any relationship, it is essential to get basic communication (conversation) right. But exactly how do you get communication right for building a good working relationship?
This program looks at both the mechanics and emotions of conversation and how to use them to build those good and strong working relationships - be it person to person - or business to business.
Each part of the program includes opportunities to assess participant progress, and then helps them re-plan their own development program. They then apply the program and review the outcomes with the facilitator, or with the group if they wish. It can become a very personal journey, and is treated with care by the facilitating practicing psychologist. Total confidentiality and professionalism of the process is assured.
It is much better if participants have completed the communication program before starting this.
