Developing Strategies
The purpose here is to develop a ‘way’ to develop strategies, not about developing the strategies. The Executive Development Series is a range of intensive programs for upper level managers seeking a time effective way to develop knowledge and expertise in key executive and management disciplines needed in order to be able to develop organisational and departmental strategies.
Each five day program is presented in a boardroom format with capped numbers to facilitate full engagement and robust discussion.
The program consists of four consecutive days of relevant and sometimes controversial discussion material that is followed by one additional follow-up day. The date for the additional day is based on group consensus.
Strategy development and execution is crucial to an organisation’s direction and growth. It is also generally recognised as the most complex and challenging aspect of management. Statistically, most strategic planning does not work. Although strategy planning is traditionally seen as the responsibility of senior management, successful organisations today understand that strategy development and execution is a ‘whole of organisation’ responsibility. Successful strategies set about ensuring their own success.
The objective of strategy development is to encourage participants to develop their knowledge and skills to enable them to recognise and develop strategic opportunity.
